Cloud Readiness Assessment

We evaluate your workloads, data, security posture, and team readiness to determine which apps should move to cloud — and which should stay.

Talk to a cloud architect

Overview

Not every workload belongs in the cloud. Some apps are cheaper on dedicated servers, some are blocked by compliance requirements, and some should be retired rather than migrated. A cloud readiness assessment tells you which is which — before you spend six figures on a migration that moves the wrong workloads.

CB4UHost's Cloud Readiness Assessment evaluates your applications, data, security posture, team skills, and operational capacity against cloud best practices. We produce a workload-by-workload recommendation: migrate as-is, refactor first, re-platform, stay on dedicated, or retire.

We're vendor-neutral on the destination too. 'Cloud' includes AWS, GCP, Azure, OVHcloud, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, and others — the right destination depends on your workload, region, and budget, not on which hyperscaler has the best sales team.

Every assessment ends with a written report, a migration roadmap, and a 60-minute walkthrough so your team can defend and execute the decision.

What's included

Application inventory

We catalog your applications, dependencies, data flows, and current resource usage.

Workload classification

Each app is classified: migrate as-is, refactor, re-platform, stay on dedicated, or retire.

Security + compliance review

We assess your security posture and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, FedRAMP) against cloud capabilities.

Team readiness evaluation

We evaluate your team's cloud skills and recommend training or hiring to close gaps.

Migration roadmap

Phased migration plan with risk mitigation, rollback strategies, and timeline estimates.

How we work

1

Discovery

We inventory applications, data, dependencies, and current infrastructure.

2

Workload analysis

We analyze each workload for cloud fit — performance, cost, security, and compliance.

3

Team assessment

We evaluate your team's cloud readiness and identify skill gaps.

4

Recommendation

We produce a workload-by-workload recommendation with rationale and migration strategy.

5

Roadmap + handover

We deliver a phased migration roadmap and walk your team through it.

FAQ

How long does an assessment take?

Typically 3-4 weeks for a mid-size estate (20-50 applications). Larger estates take longer. We can rush for urgent migration decisions.

Do you recommend specific cloud providers?

Yes, after assessing your workloads. We compare AWS, GCP, Azure, OVHcloud, DigitalOcean, Hetzner, and others based on your region, compliance, and budget.

What if you recommend we stay on dedicated?

That happens about 20% of the time. Some workloads — especially predictable heavy databases or compliance-bound apps — are cheaper and safer on dedicated servers. We'll show you the math.

Can you help with the migration after the assessment?

Yes — we offer migration execution as a follow-on engagement (see our Migration Services). Many clients use the assessment to scope the migration project.
